CRISH IN ACCESSORIES CLIO II 2001S/AC published by Manual-Mecanica
Does anyone know why I have an insistent noise in the Clio accessories strap ???, I changed the belt for a new and remains the same. At first it was only from 1500rpm onwards but now it is also in idle, the only thing I did was to take out the belt and with the engine running a sandpaper (roughing) in the 6 gutters and it was worse. Does anyone know about any product that is added so that it does not make noise or do I have to change the pulley too ??? Here is about $ 100 plus labor the replacement but if you can stretch a little more until the $$$ would be more. Greetings

The straps squeak both because they are loose and when they are very tense, but you can have problems with the belt tensioner.

Hello, thanks for your contribution, you know that the tensioner was changed a few months ago when I did the whole distribution so I suppose that is not that, the tension that I give allows you to turn almost half a turn and it seems quite tight to the touch, do you know of any product that removes the noise ??? They say that there are even people who throw water to calm down, I still did not try but I am about to try. Greetings

Hello, I think your problem is the crankshaft pulley, they carry an integrated rubber band in the pulley that divides it into two, the problem is that this band is detached and causes the outer part of the pulley to rotate on the internal instead of doing it at the same time, causing a squeak as if it were the belt and that it is not removed for more than tense or loosen the tensioner. You can diagnose very easy, with the engine stopped you make some marks coincident with chalk or paint in the 2 parts of the pulley, you start the engine for a moment and stop it again, if the marks are still aligned the pulley is fine, if they are misaligned it is loose and you must change it.
