Hello, I would like to know if anyone knows why the 2007 Toyota Hilux diesel engine 2500 loses power when accelerating, and if the EGR sensor is disconnected it regains power. If anyone has a manual for this engine, I would greatly appreciate it.

Clean the EGR valve; they tend to get dirty and the engines lose power. Cleaning it should fix the problem. If it still doesn't work properly after cleaning, let us know and we'll see what the issue is.

I cleaned it but it's still the same. I think that when accelerating it opens up and the turbo pressure is lost, which is why it struggles to accelerate, since when pulling away from an intersection it's very slow and the engine response is poor

Hi.
If we think the problem might be the EGR valve, and it's not dirty, the valve seat could be damaged. I'd like to know what makes it work, a vacuum signal or an electrical signal? In any case, it would be advisable to perform a gas analysis under different conditions to determine if the EGR valve is causing the problem.
Good luck...

I know the EGR valve should be fully open at idle and close when accelerating, it's like the canister purge valve on a gasoline engine, but in this case it's the other way around: it's only partially open at idle and fully open when accelerating!

Cheers!
