Problem with the injection pump. Posted by manual-mecanica
Hi everyone, I have a 2000 Renault Megane 5-door 1.9 dTi and the diesel injection pump is leaking a little from the top. I wanted to know if I can remove it and replace the gasket myself, or if I need to take it to a specialist. The other thing I need to know is how to remove the air conditioning solenoid valve because every time I turn the ignition on, I feel knocking noises behind the dashboard, but they disappear once the car is running. Thank you very much, and this forum is fantastic; it has helped me with many problems with my car

Manual-mechanics' response on the topic Re: Problem with the injection pump
Hi Garis, removing the top cover of the injection pump requires mechanical knowledge and the necessary tools for reassembly, so I don't recommend you do it yourself. Regarding the noises behind the dashboard, it's the air recirculation flap. On the engine side, you have to remove the right-hand cover of the windshield wiper motor housing. The connector for the flap's servo motor is located there; it's a rectangular connector, and I believe it has three wires. Disconnect it, and the noise will stop. I hope this helps. Cheers...
