A/C fan speed 2 Published by manual-mecanica
Hello, I have a problem with the A/C in my 1997 Honda Civic. To begin with, it's not cooling very well. They recharged the refrigerant, but it's still not cooling properly. They checked it again and told me that the second speed of the electric fan isn't activating. This is because the pressure gets too high, causing the compressor to stop working until the pressure drops and it restarts. They told me to take it to an auto electrician, but I'm not sure if it's worth fixing given the car's age. That's why I'm asking for your help if anyone has experienced something similar. Thanks in advance.

Manual-mechanical response on the topic Re: 2nd speed of the A/C electric fan
Okay, friend, your problem is either the pressure valve or the resistor.
1. The pressure valve isn't sending the signal, or the relay for the second speed is bad; you need to locate it.
2. If the resistor is bad, disconnect the two wires connected to it. This resistor is located below the electric fan. After disconnecting the two wires, check if it turns on when you connect the two ends. If it works, then the resistor is bad.
3. If not, install a relay that, when the compressor turns on, sends current to the electric fan so the pressures are maintained and your car cools.
