Renault Laguna Handbrake Light. Posted by manual-mecanica
Hi, I have a question. I changed the rear brake pads on my car and loosened the handbrake cable, then tightened it again, but the dashboard light stays on as if the handbrake were engaged. When I tightened it, I left it the same as before. What could it be? Help please.

Check the contact, which is usually located on the brake lever. The contact is grounded.
Or, you might have a short to ground, which is why the light is on.
But check the contact (switch) first.
