Toyota Rear Differential Published by manual-mecanica
Hello colleagues, I have a problem with a Toyota rear differential. It has a grinding noise. I replaced the internal bearings, but I don't know how to adjust it properly. I would appreciate it if someone could explain how to do it, or provide a video or manual. Thank you for your help

Manual-mechanics response on the topic Re: TOYOTA REAR DIFFERENTIAL
Hey buddy, is the differential held on with nuts on the sides or with shims? Well, if it's with nuts, you'll need a dial indicator to adjust it. Mark the ring gear in four places beforehand, with the pinion gear already assembled. Place the indicator on the differential housing and read it at the four marks. The measurement should be between 10 and 18 hundredths of a millimeter. Keep in mind that it will never read exactly the same at all marks, that's why it's 10 to 18. The ring gear isn't straight; it has some variation. If it's with shims, I can still help you...
