Hi, my name is Jimmy and I'm new to the forum. I have a question and I hope you can help me. I have a 1990 Eclipse, and I swapped the engine for a 1.6L dual overhead cam Elantra engine (the engine is from a 1993 model). After the engine swap, the car started, but with a strange noise. I checked the spark and noticed that only cylinders 2 and 3 are sparking; cylinders 1 and 4 aren't. I checked the ignition coils (DIS) and there's no spark in one of them (1 and 4). What could it be?
I'm wondering if the mechanic connected the positive wire to the computer incorrectly (reversed) or if the coil burned out, etc.
Before the engine swap, it was running fine.
If anyone has the ignition timing diagram or knows what the problem might be, I would really appreciate your help.
