Electronic ignition query. Posted by manual-mecanica
Hello, good evening. I wanted to ask if electronic ignitions for a carbureted (distributor-operated) 4-cylinder vehicle are "standard." For example, can the same electronic ignition be installed on an LJ80 as on a Fiat 145? Or what type would you recommend for the LJ80? Thank you very much.

It is always recommended to use the correct ignition module for your vehicle, as not all ignition modules are the same. Sometimes their shape is the same, but internally they are different. They can be modified, but this requires advanced electronics knowledge, or you can replace the distributor with the correct module.
