Loss of power in a Renault Trafic. Posted by manual-mecanica
Hi everyone, I have a problem with my 2004 Trafic (1.9 dci 100hp). I'm hoping someone can help me. It drives fine, but lately when I accelerate it lacks power or accelerates a few seconds late. It goes slowly and I have to try again to accelerate before it works properly. I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance.

First, clean the EGR valve; it may be dirty or stuck open

Thanks, I'll try it, but the problem is that it only happens two or three times a day, and then it works fine for a week. And when we plug it into the computer, nothing happens.
Greetings to all

I would suggest checking the engine sensors, as power loss can stem from any of them. These sensors provide feedback to the ECM (engine control module) and directly affect fuel injection. The sensors in question are the

TPS (throttle position sensor), MAF (mass airflow sensor), MAP (manifold absolute pressure sensor), oxygen sensor, and EGR (emission control valve).

Also, check the fuel pump pressure; it might be faulty.
