Why is it so difficult?

Hello, lately in the workshop manuals it is dicil to come the static diagram of the distribution, being an important part of the knowledge of the engine, why is it so difficult to find them until the engine has been throwing a lot of years? It is easier to find it in car magazines than in a workshop book! We are bad.
