I have a 2007 Silverado pickup truck. For the past few days, I've been experiencing a problem. After starting the engine and while driving between 1200 and 1500 RPM, a noise appears in the engine (similar to a ticking sound). When I take my foot off the accelerator, the noise disappears and eventually reappears depending on the driving conditions. It's important to note that there is no noise when the truck is parked. It only occurs within the RPM range I mentioned. This is a 2007 5.3L Vortec engine. What do you recommend? Thank you for your help.

That noise you're talking about is a real pain when you're trying to find it because it could be anything from the timing chains, the sprockets, the timing chain tensioners, poorly adjusted valves, play in the camshafts relative to their bearings, play in the piston pins, and everything sounds the same in that engine because everything is metallic; you only hear it where it resonates, which is usually in the valve cover.
