I present myself:
I am from Spain and I have a Peugeot 306 Break 1.9Diesel, it is neither turbo nor HDI, it is simply 1.9Diesel.
Well the problem I have, when I am going to start the vehicle in the morning to go to work, there are no ways to start it, the engine revolves because I am trying to start but nothing, I have to get diesel manually in the engine and it is when it starts.
In principle I thought it was a problem of heater, but my surprise was, that it took him to a mechanical workshop and they told me that the heater were perfect.

The same thing happened to the battery, it wasn't about the drums either.
The truth is that I am a little worried, because I am afraid that it is a serious problem, although what reassures me, is that the vehicle is perfect, but it seems that Gasoil does not reach the engine, because when it has been parked for a short time if I take it again it works perfectly.

You have not changed the diesel filter, and that of the air, when you start the smoke as it is, if it is black, it is a problem of filters, especially of the diesel. Try purging the filter, if you do not know how to do it, it is very simple, from the bottom of the filter there is a tube, which is connected to a plastic nut, loosen it a little for the dirt to come out, then the first one again. But put a boat under so that the diesel does not fall to the ground. ALL THE BEST. You will tell me.

If you do not start and you have the heaters in good condition and the preheater also, the most caused thing is that you have air in the system, or that the precion is lost from the ramp, you have the next ones with the pear or the Bombin Precion Board in the system and once the spark plugs are heated.

The same thing happens to me, I have to give the manual button to load the circuit and so start. It is always that I leave it uphill, downhill, it does not happen. Once I left it downhill and I lost diesel. I don't know what it can be.
