HDI fuel pressure regulator

Hello friends, I have a Peugeot 306 HDI with the following problem. When accelerating the engine it reaches 2400 rpm and from there it seems to run out of gas oil. The engine stops by magic every so often, if I get the contact and start start immediately. When the engine is running, when the contact is closed, it continues to walk about 3 or 4 seconds. The SCANER throws a P1138 fault code regulatory fuel pressure regulator or stuck regulator, but they told me that I discard other possible causes of failure before changing the regulator, which by the way is quite boneroso.
