As a tip, measure the oil pressure with a gauge to be sure it's working. If the pressure rises, the cable might be pinched and nothing more, but make sure of the pressure first.

Check if the cable is shorting to ground with the vehicle. If you replace the pump and the pressure remains low, you may need to start disassembling due to a possible problem with the bearings or poor oil maintenance

First, check if the lifters (tap valves) are making noise. If they aren't, it means your pump is working fine, and the problem could be the sensor wire. If the lifters are making noise, you'll need to check the fuel pressure with a gauge. If the pressure is low, then your pump is faulty. Cheers, I hope this helps ;)

The first thing you should do is be sure of the pressure; measure it with a pressure gauge. You should do this with the engine at normal operating temperature so that it is a real and reliable reading. If that test shows a low pressure result, you should be concerned, because it could even be wear between the metals and the crankshaft.
