Manual-Mecanica Answer on the Re: Jetta97 MAF sensor
According to the type of failure that your vehicle presents, the injection system of your car is more sophisticated, in this case it no longer has any common slowdown valve, but rather that sensor called TPS was incorporated into your car that in your case also controls the idle of the vehicle to the different motor states of the motor, and electronically by not incorporating the valve of idle, it is the computer. Butterfly valve in such circuing that the engine does not fall in revolution and stop, keeping it constant.
The way you must do some type of maintenance, which generally in the consistent workshops do not advise until it consults, is through the other colleague with a spray or spray that is as or equal to volatile that the benzine or clean carburetor, spraying the acceleration butterfly taking out all the remains of carbon Carter, I hope you are lucky, greetings.

The one that indicates with the arrow is not the MAF sensor is an electronic accelerator The MAF sensor is mounted on the air hose after the flitter in the first photo is enough to see is three or four cables.

That is not the MAF but the acceleration body, look if in the fusera you have a reread with number 30, if it bridges it with a cable between pins 30 (+) and 87 and see what happens.

That is the acceleration body !!!!!! The MAF is the one that is attached to the air filter box, your problem with idle is the acceleration body, only lavals every time you make a tuning.
