Hello friends, I have a question. The air conditioning compressor on my 1999 Chrysler Stratus is stuck. Does this affect the engine's performance, or can I fix it?

Hi, check if the belt only powers the air conditioning. If it's only for the air conditioning, you can remove it; it won't affect the engine. But make sure nothing else is powered by it. If it only goes from the crankshaft to the compressor and doesn't go through the water pump, power steering, or alternator, there's no problem.

That's correct; if it only activates the air, you can eliminate it. If it moves any other pulley besides the crankshaft, obviously, then you can't eliminate it. If the air is stuck, it's most likely that its bearing is damaged.
