ESMERILAR RENAULTE MEGANE CODE 1.9 DTI 2001 Published by Manual-Mecanica
Greetings to all, dear mechanical partners. I come to consult the following problem. It turns out that my mother was the engine distribution the other day. The thing came because the auxiliary strap was not changed in time, and began to break, with such bad luck that part of the auxiliary strap went to the cigaeñal tool, making several teeth jump the distribution strap. After several days, disassembling injection pump, refrigeration circuit, distribution and collectors, I managed to take out the cylinder head. The thing did not paint as bad as I expected, and apparently I just fold a pair of admission valves, cylinders 1 and 4. with the cylinder head in the hand, it takes it to a workshop of rectified of butts. They passed me a budget, and after a strip and loosen with the workshop in question, the thing stays at about 300 euros. But it is already known, with the times, you have to save the maximum possible. And here comes my consultation. I have told the type of the workshop, to save a little more, than the grinding of valves and seats I can do it, (you know, with emelling paste, and a suction cup in the valves). But the guy referred to "it is the entire cylinder head." And I am not sure what it refers to. Do you think that you are talking about sheltering the entire cylinder head, in addition to the valves, or just clean the cylinder head, and it is valve? In case of striving the entire cylinder head, how is it done? I comment this because I want to save money, but I don't want to, because of a problem that I can cause, I get worse. Well, I would appreciate any advice on how to "strive" an entire cylinder head. Thank you for taking the time to read my case. Greetings.

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: Esmerilar Renault Megane 1.9 DTI 2001
Hi Legolas, what your mechanic means is that in addition to striving the valves, they brush your face flat thing that if the vehicle did not overheat, it makes no sense. In fact, we mechanics, for a question of guarantee and security in our work, prefer to do the complete cylinder head since in case it is outside, this generates an extra expense but at the same time the complete security at the time of the assembly. Of course, if the issue is to take care of the budget and if you are sure that I do not overheless the engine ... do not merit it ... greetings compi !!!

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: Esmerilar Renault Megane 1.9 DTI 2001
Hello, before Esmerilar, look at how the valve guides are because they usually deform the torser valves, I do not think the flat face is deformed, the butt is deformed when the joint is burned nothing more, I hope my contribution serves,.

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: Esmerilar Renault Megane 1.9 DTI 2001
Hello Legolas7771.
A butt is brushed when it twists, with a special rule to measure flatness is verified. If it is not crooked, you should not brush because it would be to take useful life time. The way to do it is with a special machine for that or in a planimeter where it can be manipulated with emery ointment. It is best to verify the cylinder head. LUCK
MIGUEL

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: Esmerilar Renault Megane 1.9 DTI 2001
Thank you all for your answers. In response to Vilicich, yes, the guidelines of the valves have had to change them, in addition to planning the cylinder head, making the valve setting, changing the two bent valves that it had, change of seals, new butt joint, etc. Hence the budget has gone to 300 euros. The cylinder head did not overheat, I am sure, so I don't think it has to strive the cylinder head, as you have said. I will be the valves and seats, and I will hit the flat part of the cylinder head, but without sanding or lowering anything. I think that after this they will plan it, and finish it. When I have it ready to ride it, I will let you know how everything has gone. Thanks once again for your attention. All the best.
