Manual-mechanics' response on the topic Re: Ford Econoline problems, help please
Of course, that's what everyone tells me, because anyway, it wouldn't hurt to replace the pump. If that's not it, then there's no problem; we can rule out other issues and move on to the most expensive thing, which would be the engine rebuild. What makes me so angry is that I've already taken it apart three times. Ugh! I'm going to shoot myself. Thanks, regards.

Hahaha, relax Astorga, don't get so worked up. That's just how mechanics are. It's not great having to take the same thing apart three or four times, but it happens sometimes. Like I always say, if you're going to have to do it, do it now. Put on some good music and have lots of patience! Hahaha, good luck!

Hehehe, yes, I'll keep that in mind. Hey, another question: when I remove the pump (because I already bought a new one, but I had the cover where it sits resurfaced to remove the marks from the old one), do you think there will be any problems with its operation?

If it's been properly resurfaced, I don't think so, because remember that the cover that protects it also serves to accumulate oil, but I don't think it will affect you at all.

Well, I'm letting you know that we've failed again. I've replaced the oil pump with a new one, and it's still doing the same thing. I've ruled that out, but what could the problem be? Do you think it needs an engine overhaul? The oil pressure held while the truck was stopped, but when I put it in gear, the pressure started to drop, and it wouldn't accelerate. Accelerating a little helped it accelerate, but with a lot of effort, and I can hear a noise like the valve lifters. What could it be?
