I have a 2002 Ford Focus with a manual transmission. An orange light that looks like a steering wheel with an exclamation mark inside comes on on the dashboard. When it comes on, I feel like the car is losing power, but as I drive at speed, it flashes and then goes off

Hello friend, the light you're describing is called the Engine System Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MSIP). This means you might have a problem with the engine's electrical system, such as a power cut in the ignition coil, sensors, or injectors.
