Hi, sorry I just read the message today. I don't have the part number for the chains right now, but I'll get it and send it to you. Regards.

Hey friend, you need a special tool that mounts on the cylinder head and fits into the grooves on the back of the camshafts. Be careful, don't assemble it if they're not properly aligned, because the valves will hit the pistons. Find the tool; with it, you just set piston one to top dead center, fit the grooves of the two camshafts into the tool, tighten the gear nuts, and the timing will be perfect. I recently adjusted my Explorer, that's why I'm telling you. Cheers

Greetings friend, right here in the Workshop Manuals section, in the Ford section, on page 4, download the FORD EXPLORER WORKSHOP MANUAL. It has what you need, for both the 4L 6-cylinder and 8-cylinder engines. I downloaded it a while ago to check the timing on a 2002 Explorer, and it's very complete (and best of all, in Spanish). It lists the tools you'll need. I understand you can do the timing right there, but to change the tensioner pulleys or the timing chain, you'll need to remove the engine. I hope this helps. Best of luck!
