Help how to synchronize a Ford Explorer 9 engine

Good afternoon, I have a 1998 Ford Explorer V6 4.0 engine and I replaced the back part of the injector synchronizer. I never marked it and just put it back on. I think piston 1 should be on top, and I don't know which way the synchronizer should go. I think a special tool is needed. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks again. Greetings!

What serial number does it have, or is it a timing chain with front and rear timings?

Hi, yes, there is a special tool for timing it. It's like a small cap with a slot used to mount that part. If it's not properly timed, it will generate a fault code because it's injecting fuel out of sync. Regards
