BMW 320D E46 Climatizer Problem

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting on this forum. I'm hoping someone can give me some ideas about a problem I'm having.

My car is a BMW 320d (E46). A few weeks ago, I started noticing that the climate control system turns itself off and then back on. It only happens with the air conditioning on.

Let me explain: When I press the climate control button, cold air starts coming out, but after a few seconds, the air continues to come out with the same force or intensity, but it's no longer cold air. It's the same air as when I turn off the button.

When it turns off, I start hearing noises from the interior air ducts, just like when I turn off the climate control.

What could be causing this?

Right now, it works perfectly fine with the heating on, but when summer arrives, I'll have to get it fixed.

Your system is low on refrigerant; you have a leak. Top it up with a recharge and see how long the cooling lasts. Or, take it to an A/C shop for a leak check, but they'll find something and it'll cost you a pretty penny. Cheers.
