Abnormal water consumption. Published by manual-mecanica
I have a 2002 Hyundai Accent in almost perfect working order. For the past five years, I've noticed it's consuming or evaporating a lot of water from the cooling system (radiator or hoses). I've done all sorts of repairs, including replacing the engine gaskets, which the mechanic said was the most common problem.

I've tested for leaks, and there aren't any, nor is there any overheating on the temperature gauge.

A diagnostic scan doesn't show any fault codes.

Could anyone on the forum offer any ideas? My fear is that I might overheat and burn out the engine on a drive.

Good afternoon, I would appreciate it if you could tell me a little more about the problem: Are the hoses bulging? Is there no coolant leaking from the exhaust pipe? Are there any traces of coolant on the car floor? etc. Perhaps by thoroughly cleaning the engine and then checking it again after starting it up, you can find the leak.

What ege says is true, water doesn't magically disappear; it has to be somewhere or it has to drip. Sometimes these leaks are due to water seals, and since these are mounted on the block, they dry almost immediately and go unnoticed. Or it could be a hose leaking and dripping into the exhaust without being noticed. You have to inspect carefully.

I appreciate your support, as I've replaced all the visible hoses, and even the water pump, because I thought they were faulty. There's no coolant leak if there were a leak from the cylinder head or engine block. I've kept the engine running and raised for 20 minutes and there are no leaks. However, the coolant reservoir is emptying.

Seeing

your problem reminds me that I had a Corsa
and something similar happened to me. When I checked it with the engine running, I couldn't see anything. The problem was that when you drove at higher RPMs, the cooling system built up pressure and one of the hoses at the pump outlet was cracked, but it came off while driving.

Check it when you're revving the engine to see if it's leaking anywhere.
Good luck
