Modifications Published by manual-mecanica
Hi everyone, I have a question. At a conference we had at school about modifying cars for drag racing, the speaker mentioned something called "estroquear" (swiveling the crankshaft). I only understood that it was an alteration of the crankshaft-camshaft rotation ratio, but I didn't have enough time to get my question answered. What exactly is "estroquear"? Does anyone know? Thanks in advance!

Manual-mechanics' response on the topic Re: modifications
Stroke tuning is known as increasing the power of an engine, either by changing components or modifying the engine itself (structure). There are many ways to do this type of transformation, depending on the vehicle you own or want to modify and your budget, but basically it's engine modification. Any structural change or component modification will increase power. Changing the crankshaft to camshaft rotation ratio is unlikely; it's always 2:1, and you can't do anything about it except push it to its limits, but this ratio doesn't change.
