Rear axle Published by manual-mechanics
A few days ago I changed the shock absorbers on a
1992 Renault Clio, but it's still making a clunking noise over bumps. I've been told it's the right third-axle bushing. I bought a ring-shaped bushing called a silentblock. Can it be installed by lifting the rear of the car with a jack? Thanks.

Manual-mechanics' response on the topic Re: Rear axle
If you're referring to the one that goes between the spring and the body, then yes, it can be done by lifting it.

Manual-mechanics' response on the topic Re: Rear axle
I visited several mechanics today and they say the problem requires complete disassembly (the jack isn't enough) and using a press to remove the silent block. Thanks anyway!

Do you have a full shock absorber or is the spring of the shock absorber?
