Hello, forum friends... I wanted to tell you about (and ask for your advice on) a problem I'm having with a 2000 VW Jetta with a 2.0L engine. The oil pan broke after hitting a rock on the road. After replacing the pan (it took us three weeks to find one), the engine wouldn't start. In fact, it feels like it's "stuck," and when I try to turn the crankshaft pulley, it only turns to the left. It won't turn in the other direction. If anyone knows what the problem could be, I would appreciate your kind comments and suggestions, because this problem has me stumped and confused.

DEAR FRIENDS, I'M PLEASED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED. IT TURNS OUT THE ALTERNATOR BEARINGS WERE STUCK, WHICH IS WHY IT WOULDN'T TURN IN ONE DIRECTION.
