Electrical problem in a 1999 VW Gol. Posted by manual-mecanica
I have a problem with the alternator charging indicator light on the dashboard. Everything seems fine; the bulb isn't burned out, there are no cut wires to the alternator, and I replaced the brushes because they were worn out. But the light doesn't come on when the ignition is on. The alternator is charging at 13.50 volts. I'd like to know if anyone can help me. Thank you very much.

Manual-mechanics' response on the topic Re: electrical problem, 1999 Gol
This problem usually appears when the voltage regulator is replaced. If you say everything is fine and the alternator is working, check that you haven't forgotten to connect any wires and that they are properly connected to the correct terminal on the regulator. If it's an alternator, check the instrument cluster and its traces; it's that green paper with copper lines located on the back of the instrument cluster.
