Renault 19 brake master cylinder. Posted by manual-mecanica
I have a 1993 Renault 19 with a 1.7L engine (the French version) and I need to know if the rod that comes out of the brake booster and actuates (pushes) the master cylinder has any kind of adjuster, that is, if it can be adjusted to provide more pedal feel. Thanks in advance.

Hey friend, that rod is adjusted to give the correct clearance to the piston in the brake master cylinder. It has a clearance of 1mm between the rod and the piston, unless it has an excessive clearance. I don't see why you have a low pedal feel problem. Check if there's air in the system, and if not, check the brake shoes to make sure they're not worn. Let us know what you find. Cheers. :) : EVIL:

Hi friend, I have a question. I completely overhauled the brakes on my R19. I replaced the front rotors with new, original parts and pads. The calipers were in very good condition and didn't need repair. In the rear, I had the drums resurfaced and replaced the brake shoes with the correct size, and I also replaced the wheel cylinders with original parts. After reassembling everything and bleeding the entire system several times, I still can't get the brake pedal to stay at the top. The car brakes fine, but the pedal only goes down halfway before I start braking. I came to this forum because I was completely out of ideas about what the problem could be. I'm very grateful to anyone who can help me. Thanks.
