Variable Venturi Carburetor? Published by manual-mecanica
Hello friends, I have a 1992 Mitsubishi Lancer, and I'm having a problem with the carburetor. I need to adjust it, but I think this type of carburetor is a bit complicated. Does anyone know how to adjust it properly? Which is the fuel inlet and which is the air inlet?: Dry:
Thanks in advance to everyone.

You have an Ayssam variable venturi carburetor, which few people know about.
At the back, you have the idle air control valve, and right below it, a copper screw with an aluminum cap.
That cap hides the high-speed regulator
. If the problem is CO, change the carburetor and you'll save
time and money.
If not, clean and replace
the gaskets. The Suzuki Swift 1.6 GLX has the same one;
I opted to adapt a more "normal" one.

I have a variable venturi carburetor in my 1989 Toyota Corolla that works like the one in the Morris Cooper 1275, meaning it's vacuum-operated, but the diaphragm is horizontal. When you accelerate, the vacuum causes the diaphragm to retract, allowing air to flow and emulsify the fuel mixture. I installed it because the original carburetor was damaged; when I used compressed air, some internal parts flew out. This carburetor hasn't given me any problems, and fuel consumption is around 12.5 km/l. I don't know the carburetor brand, but I'll check tomorrow.
