Fiat Punto SX. Published by manual-mecanica
Hi,

I have a Fiat Punto X and only one coded key, and I've been going around in circles trying to get another copy, but I'm tired of all the hassle. Does anyone know how to disconnect the system and leave it working without coded keys?

Thanks

Hello friend. To get a duplicate key, you have to code the new key or obtain the same chip as the old key. All of this is done with a smart key coding device.
As of now, this entire system cannot be bypassed. Sincerely, Tecluis

Hello.

The confusion is that another option I've been told about is disabling this system, and I've been told about a place I haven't been to, but I don't know if that's the case.

And where I live, I don't know who makes those kinds of copies.

Thanks anyway.

Hi friend. It's a good idea to go and see if it's disabling your smart key system. If that happens, please let me know at my email address. .

Yes, the entire system can be disabled, but this must be done by someone who really knows what they're doing. There are several different systems and therefore several different ways to achieve this. In one case, it's enough to simply align the encoder chip and it's disabled, and in others, a black box that controls injection and spark must be bypassed. This is removed and the cable is directly bridged, but you must find out what type your car has.
