It won't start; I have to get it going with an external helper. Once it starts, it runs immediately when it's warm. It's a common rail system. I removed the injectors, cleaned them, and the engine's performance improved; it idles better, but it still won't start without external assistance. I need an explanation of what else I can check.

It's almost certainly the injectors; one is probably getting clogged, causing the pressure to escape through the return line, preventing the system from reaching the required 160 kg of pressure. To check them, plug the return line to the tank and connect some of the injector overflow tubes to four containers. Start the engine, and if any container fills with diesel, that's the faulty injector. Replace it or have it repaired. Keep in mind that some injectors have a coded number and need to be recoded with a scanner.

You didn't mention what kind of car it is or how many kilometers it has, but if it's a car that works in a very dusty area or has quite a few kilometers on it, I suggest you check the cylinder compression, as you might have very low compression in one or more cylinders. Also, overheating could damage the piston rings, and then you're in trouble. Good luck.

Hi, I think the others are spot on about your problem
. Depending on the mileage, it could be the injectors having trouble working
. Also, the high-pressure fuel pump might not be at its normal pressure of 18,000 psi. And lastly, you could have premature wear in the cylinders due to using an air filter element with an orange rim, which is spongy. This type is for naturally aspirated gasoline Accents,
and the filter housing can deform and suck up a lot of dust, which then goes directly into the cylinders. You need to provide more information so we can all have a more accurate picture of your situation. Bye, and please reply with the details.

The injection pressure can reach 1350 bar at high engine speed.
The injection ECU integrates the following parameters:
If current is reaching the injector, test the cylinder reference sensor;
check the filter, it may be clogged;
check the steering wheel sensor, fuel sensor, high-pressure regulator,
boost pressure sensor, mass airflow sensor,
water temperature sensor, intake air temperature sensor,
brake pedal sensor, clutch pedal sensor,
vehicle speed sensor, electronic immobilizer,
and other functions depending on the equipment (CCA...).
These functions are taken over by the engine control unit.

The pre-filter is located before the low-pressure pump, before
the pump intake.
The other is located after the pump with the water separator.
The injectors are not disassembled, they are replaced.
