CHRYSLER NEON 1998 Published by manual-mecanica
Hello everyone, good afternoon. I need to know if anyone can tell me how to test the crankshaft position sensor (CMS) on a Neon, as I have one and it's not getting spark and therefore won't start. I think that's the problem. If anyone has had a similar issue, please tell me what else it could be. Thank you very much. I hope you can help me. Good afternoon.

If it's a 2-pin connector, check for continuity, and see if it changes when you move it closer to and further away from metal. If it doesn't... replace it.

Is it the crankshaft position sensor (CTS) or the crankshaft position sensor? If it measures resistance, it should be between 500 and 800 kilohms. Then connect the other pin, pass something metallic in front of it, and see if it sends a signal.

Thank you very much for the information. This sensor has three wires anyway. Thank you very much.

Two of those three wires must have a resistance of 500 to 800 ohms, and check that the ground wire does not have more than one ohm with respect to the engine ground, not the battery. Then pass a metal element in front of the sensor and check that with the wire you did not measure and the ground, it sends a voltage signal.
