Rear noise in Honda CRV. Posted by manual-mecanica

For some time now, I've had a noise coming from the rear of my '99 CRV, and I can't figure out what's causing it. The mechanic removed the axles to turn the wheels on the lift, but they couldn't confirm if any bearings were faulty, and the noise persists. Any suggestions?

It would be helpful if you could describe the noise: whether it occurs at high or low speeds, or with the engine off when turning, and if there are any vibrations or anything like that. More details, please.

Thanks Kikemec, it's the typical noise of a bearing, but unlike that, it doesn't get louder when rotating and there are no vibrations, nor does it change whether the engine is running or off. It sounds like the typical rolling noise of tires, and that's ruled out because we changed them a few days ago.
