Seat Arosa water pump. Posted by manual-mecanica
Hello friends:
I have a Seat Arosa 1.4 injection with
45,000 km
The radiator is clean and
there are no leaks.
The radiator fan is controlled by a switch and turns on when I start the car.
I don't have a thermostat.

The temperature goes above 90°C when going uphill.
almost certain it's the water pump.
I've noticed that the upper water hoses are very hot,
however, the hose that enters the radiator at the bottom is cold.
My question is:
can I remove the water pump without having to completely remove the timing belt?

I simply want to replace the pump and reinstall it according to the timing marks on the belt.

Is there a free manual available for this car?

Greetings from Tenerife.

Hi Nicolas, you can change the pump without completely removing the belt. Make sure to mark the position of the gears so you can reassemble it without changing the timing. As for the manual, try these websites: Clubdelseat.com, Librotaller.net, Automecanico.com, and Redtecnicaautomotriz.com. You have to register, but it's easy and free. I hope this helps. Best regards.

Download the AUTODATA CD; it has all the information on how the timing belt is installed. You won't have any problems there. Good luck!

Thanks friends,
it's sorted!
I left quite a mark on the timing belt
and that's how I removed the water pump.
The trick was using the jack under the engine to lower it
and remove the pulley.
