Clutch for a 1997 Renault Laguna RXE 2.2 dt. Published by manual-mecanica
Hi everyone, I have a problem with my car. After 12 years, it's already got quite a few issues. The clutch pedal stays down and I have to pump it to get it to come up. A few days ago, it would build up pressure and go up, but now it stays down and I can't shift gears.

I checked the service manual and saw that I can replace a slave cylinder. My question is: is it easy to do? Will it fix the pedal problem?

Thanks.

- Note: I replaced the clutch a couple of months ago.

Hey friend, your problem can be fixed by replacing the clutch master cylinder, also called the master cylinder, which is activated by the clutch pedal. The slave cylinder, also called the slave cylinder, is inside the clutch assembly. But since you said it was replaced months ago, they should have installed a new one. So for now, just install the master cylinder and get it working.

Thanks a lot.
I spoke to a mechanic and he told me what you said. The part I need to replace is sold in a kit (like almost everything from Renault). In the end, thanks to this friend, it'll cost me around €300 for parts and labor at an official dealership.
What do you think of the price?
Thanks again.
