Saturn 1.9 16v 96 ignition failure. Posted by manual-mecanica
The crankshaft was replaced, and now it won't start; it just backfires, burns too much fuel, and uses two spark plugs, which are swapping. The behavior suggests a timing issue, but it's been checked numerous times and is fine, and the crankshaft position sensor is working properly.

Manual-mechanical response on the topic of Saturn 1.9 16v 96 ignition failure.
You should carefully compare the crankshaft with the one it came with; it might not be the same part number, and the reluctor might be different.
I think there are versions for DOHC and SOHC.
