Hello everyone, since you helped me once with the injection pump—and how! You provided the solution that even the mechanic couldn't find. I'm back with another problem, as stated in the title. I have an ISUZU NKR crane (it looked like the NPR, and it's also listed as a Chevrolet), and the problem is that air is getting into the diesel fuel system. I've changed the filter twice, and the base where the filter screws on three times, but nothing has worked. Every time I use the bleeder (bulb), a lot of air comes out (I checked with a clear hose). I even tried connecting it directly, from the diesel tank to the pump. It seems like hardly any air is getting through there, but the jerking continues. I also noticed something that might be odd, but the return line also has air coming back in. The crane starts and accelerates fine, but it jerks, and I think it's because of the air. I changed the hoses and installed... New ones, it's as if air accumulates in the tank and when it passes through the pump it's expelled under pressure.

I don't know what type of injection pump your vehicle has. If you've checked the entire system, from the filter to the pump, and it's still drawing in air, then the pump isn't leaking, the injectors are working fine, and there's a lot of air in the return line. Have you checked that the priming bulb valve is working correctly? Now, if it's a computerized, common rail system... then we have many more possible causes for the jerking, instead of just air in the system.

Anyway, if it's just jerking when you accelerate, and it has an EGR valve, I'd clean it. I don't know what kind of jerking you're experiencing.

It's a Bosch VP44 rotary pump. About six months ago, they replaced the pump with a rebuilt one. I don't know if it's a faulty gasket. I've replaced the priming bulb three times. It draws in and pushes the diesel fuel well, but every time I prime it pushes air. I also connected a fuel line directly to the pump, and it seems to prevent air from getting in, but the jerking persists. Honestly, since the last mechanic worked on it, I'm even afraid to take it in. They had the tow truck waiting for two months and couldn't find the problem. However, Ismael (a member of this forum) did find it, and I've been thinking it might be something in the tank, but of course, there are no leaks.
The EGR valve has been disabled for a long time and never caused any problems.

Well, if the EGR is disabled, there are no air leaks in the manifold, and the exhaust gas recirculation system is disabled, there's also no firewall ring on any injector leaking air. First, I'd rule out a possible problem with the throttle body, the injector height, or the crankshaft position. Sorry, it's an engine I've never worked on before.
