PROBLEM WITH THE STARTER ON MY 1996 LANCER Posted by manual-mecanica
It turns out the starter on my '96 Lancer broke.
We repaired it, replaced the brushes and windings
, and reinstalled it.
the key to start it, there's no signal.
But when I disconnect the key wire and jump the solenoid and the starter, the car starts. What could be the problem?

Check the relay
and continuity in the positive wiring of the high and low amperage circuits; this can be done with a test light.
