Hey everyone, I need help getting an ISUZU truck engine (2.3L 4ZD1) running. I've already downloaded the manual and all the timing marks are where they should be. What I haven't been able to figure out is that the firing order diagram in the manual is 1-3-4-2, and the distributor rotation is counterclockwise. That's where I'm stuck, because when I manually turn the engine, the distributor rotation I see is clockwise: Blink: . So I don't know what the problem is. Is the camshaft I have incorrect:( , or do you have to order a camshaft with a right-hand or left-hand helical gear, or what? Because if it's the wrong one, I'll never get this engine running... Can anyone help solve this, please?
Thanks

I need the manual to tune the engine of a 1998 Chevrolet LUV 2.3, and also how to adjust the valves...

Hi Daviche, make sure you know the engine's rotation direction... I seem to recall from a Honda CR-V that it rotated counter-clockwise... I'm not sure about this Isuzu, but if it's the same, you'll see that the 1-3-4-2 pattern matches up, check it. Cheers!
