Kia Sportage 2000 is accelerated

Hey everyone, I need your help. I have a 2000 Kia Sportage and the problem is that it stays revved up when I press the clutch to shift gears; the RPMs don't go down. If anyone has had a similar issue with this car and resolved it, I would appreciate any information you can provide.

Hi roy85, it could be due to several things. You should check if the IAC valve is working properly (that it's not stuck), the TPS, that it's recognizing the idle speed (throttle position sensor closed), that the fuel pressure regulator is working correctly (that it's not stuck closed), and measure the fuel rail pressure... just some suggestions that might help.
