Problem with a 2004 X-Trail. Posted by manual-mecanica
Hello friends, I'm having problems with a 2004 Nissan X-Rail 2.5 gasoline engine. The problem is that it suddenly jerks, and the check engine light isn't on. I've already cleaned the throttle body and adjusted the TPS by waiting a few seconds and then pressing the accelerator. I'd like to see what the problem could be. I'd also like to know what scanner you recommend for working on this vehicle. I've read that there's one that can adjust the TPS and advance or retard the timing. I'd like to know if it exists and which one it is. Thank you very much.

Manual-mechanics response on the topic Problem with Xtrail 2004
Hey mate, I wanted to let you know that a common problem with the X-Trail is the accelerator pedal. It's electronic, and the ECU doesn't recognize it as a fault as long as it's working, which is why the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) doesn't come on. I replaced one about 15 days ago, and the price, at least in Costa Rica, was $600. To be sure, find someone with a Snap-on scanner and get it checked. Cheers!
