Renault 11 starter. Published by manual-mecanica
Hi, I wanted to ask if anyone knows why my starter is failing (I hear a clicking noise from the ring gear and impeller teeth), considering I installed a new impeller and ring gear. Thanks in advance. (I don't want to risk buying the wrong part.)

The most likely cause is that the teeth of the flywheel are worn and/or broken, which is why it's not engaging. Remove the starter motor and, using a mirror through the hole where the motor is mounted, check that the teeth are in good condition.

It's brand new; I replaced it at the same time I installed the new starter motor. A new clutch was also installed. My confusion stems from the fact that the toothed parts that mesh with the starter motor are also new.
