The issue is that the truck is making a noise in the front right wheel. It's a squealing metal scraping sound; it's not loud, but you can hear it while driving at speeds over 70 km/h. I've already checked a bit and found that the water pump was also making noise. I thought that was the problem and replaced it, but the noise continues and I can't find the source. I've checked the following: the
front brake pads were replaced and the rotors were resurfaced and are in good condition, not uneven, and have good thickness. I've also checked
the belt and its tension, as well as
the pulleys for the engine accessories:
alternator,
power steering pump,
compressor
, and tensioner.
With the engine running in neutral, I revved it to 4000 rpm and there was no noise. It's not the engine, so it's not the engine.
The noise sometimes occurs when the vehicle is moving at speeds over 70 km/h. I tried checking the wheel bearing to lubricate it and see what was wrong, but it's assembled with the ABS indicator. I'm unsure about this part.
Something tells me it's the transmission, but I can't imagine which component it could be. I have the manual, and from what I see, it has an intermediate washer between the transmission shaft and the drive axle inside the transmission itself. But I need some advice... If anyone has experience with this truck, I'd appreciate your input... Thanks...
