Lambda probe published by Manual-Mecanica
Hello, I have a 1995 Renault Laguna 2000i 8vde and the spark plugs are black as carbon, but there's no oil. The car is running on three cylinders with very little power. Could this be due to a broken catalytic converter or a faulty lambda sensor? The car has 200,000 km and isn't burning oil. Could uneven compression in the cylinders cause so much power in a car?

Hi, it seems to me you have a problem with excess fuel, either from the carburetor or the injectors, because what about the air filter?

Hi, how are you?
Have you checked the spark plug gap? If it's too tight, they might not be delivering the spark they need.
If you're unsure whether it's your lambda sensor, all you have to do is disconnect the monitoring harness that goes to the computer. After that, run the engine for about two hours and check the power output. If the problem is fixed, just replace the sensor.
