Hello everyone, I have a problem with an S10. It initially came with a damaged catalytic converter, which we replaced, and everything was fine. Now it's giving me error code P0141. The problem is that it starts and runs fine, but after a while, it starts misfiring, like one cylinder is acting up. It begins to lose power. We've already replaced the fuel pump, spark plugs, and fuel filter, tested the injectors, and even tried a different ignition coil, but it's still the same. Do you think this P0141 error code could be causing this problem?

This OBDII code means:
- Heated Oxygen Sensor (Sensor 2, Bank 1) - Circuit Malfunction.

This means you have a problem with the oxygen sensor wiring or an internal problem with the sensor itself.
You should test its proper operation.

Technical Description:

O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

What does this mean?

This code means that the oxygen sensor heater circuit in Bank 1 is taking too long to enter closed loop. As the O2 heater reaches operating temperature, the oxygen sensor responds by switching according to the oxygen content of the surrounding exhaust gases. The ECM tracks the time it takes for the oxygen sensor to begin switching. If the ECM determines (based on the coolant temperature) that too much time has elapsed before the oxygen sensor begins to function correctly, it will create code P0141.

Symptoms:

You will likely notice poor fuel economy and the check engine light illuminating.

Causes:

A P0141 code can mean that one or more of the following has occurred:
* Open or short to ground in the wiring
* High resistance in the O2 heater wiring circuit
* High resistance in the O2 heater element
* Internal short or open in the heater element.

I hope this information helps.
And check the spark plug wires; they should have a resistance of approximately 8 kΩ per meter.

Good luck.
