HYUNDAI ELANTRA 98 FUEL CONSUMPTION Published by manual-mecanica
I'll explain the problem: I'm currently getting 8k per liter. A year ago I changed the oxygen sensor, and 9 months ago I had the injectors cleaned and flushed. I've also changed the spark plugs, air filter, and fuel filter. However, the high fuel consumption continues. I've taken it to two scanners, but they couldn't connect. They told me that the scanners apparently don't have the information. They did a manual diagnostic of the oxygen sensor, which showed a voltage of 0.5. The MAP sensor initially showed a power of 1, and when accelerating, it reached 2.6. I was told that the MAP sensor should read at least 1.5 when under load and 4 when accelerating, so it seems this sensor is also faulty. My question is whether there are any other sensors I need to replace, like the TPS, the temperature sensor, or the intake air sensor. I've read that these can also increase fuel consumption if they're faulty. How can I tell if I need to replace others, and do the readings I mentioned for the oxygen and MAP sensors warrant a change because of the increased fuel consumption? I was also told I should have the injectors cleaned with ultrasound, but I don't think that's necessary. I'm leaving this question here in case someone could give me some accurate guidance to avoid unnecessary expenses. Thank you.
