Help
Hello friends, I'm new to the forum! I would like to make a query, I have an 80 Opel Record with Toyota 2.0 Disel engine, lastly it is having problems with an overload in the electrical system, the measurements with the engine running over the terminals of the battery shows me 17 volts, the alternator has its external mechanical regulator brand Nosso AW 12V which disarms it and apparently I do not find any fault. Its function on the alternator and decreases the voltage, what I do not understand is because it is not normally operated? And my other question is whether I can dye an exterior electronic regulator? Greetings and sorry for my ignorance .... I know that the most fasil would be to take it to an electrician but there is nothing better than doing it yourself

Manual-Mecanica Response on the Re: Helpaaaaaaaa
Hello Gabrientearmas91, I am also new in these boundaries, as I see that it is a fairly old car I send you a book that I think will help you understand the functioning of regulators.
Just tell you that all mechanical regulators have their regulatory screw (voltage, intensity).
Inwardly they are formed by one or more electromagnets and a limiting resistance. But much better explained it in the file that I send you.
Hopefully this information helps you something.
All the best.

Look for a modern alternator with incorporated regulator and install it in the car and forget about the mechanical regulator, everything will be much better.
