Well friend of the Terios ... Daihatsu, it has happened to me with Charade models, 1.6 with injection, models of the year 2003. Two in question, but since it is similar displacements, I think I can help you my investigation of the fault. In the cylinder head, hidden on the side of the admission ducts, there is a land that comes from the cable deck from ECU. They are very important because they are the operating lands of the computer, which are independent of the land of chassis/motor, which is a land to join the negative of main power, to link the starter engine to the 12 volts source. As the data is a "tension drop in the source of ignition", and also varying the voltage of your source, it is the natural response to the instrument of a source affected by spurious oscillations of the high voltage unit of ignition. At least I solved the two cars with that problem, (in one, the mechanic who adjusted the engine did not leave the connector eye to the bolt, and the other, definitely had one of the ground cables cut a few centimeters more outside the ring). I hope my guidance experience serves you, and luck with your repair. Greetings, Valdivian.
