There are several programs that do this and several are free, I recommend Winrar.

You install this program, or another resemblance, once you have done this the thing is easy.

Select with the cursor the file or files you want to compress, and click on the mouse with the right Botos and you will see a dialog box where you can give to .- Add to the file .- And you will have a file in (rar) that will already be compressed.
