Automatic transmission box published by Manual-Mecanica
Guayaquil, December 24, 2010

A mechanic of a lubricator and distributor of supplies for automatic boxes told me that Mercon III was used in some cars and these while they were on the highway walking at a suddenly speed burst the transmission oil reservoir. The owner of the lubricator despite knowing the problem did not want to change to Mercon V, but grace for an instructor of the Ford did it later. This workshop also gives automatic box repair service, so the owner did not care about new cars and customers simply did not know what had happened and the owner was fooling to blame the car or the driver.
This I knew after Mercon Sp on my 2005 Trailblazer and I am worried that it is not the right oil because the manual says Dexron III.
I thought it was a serious lubricator but I realized that no, that's why my fear.
Can you tell me if the Mercon SP is fine or is dangerous for my 2005 trailblazer?
Thank you.

Manual-Mecanica response on the Re: Automatic Transmission Box Oil
Hello, friend, you will see true mind you have two options for automatic boxes, dexron dos or dexron three, the issue is that this two, is appropriate for assisted addresses I advise you to replace it with the dexron three so that it does not centirfug in the long -term torque converter

Manual-Mecanica response on the Re: Automatic Transmission Box Oil
Thank you, but now I have another worse concern, according to the website in.wikipedia.org/wiki/dexron says the following:

Dexron III is not compatible with most transmission systems and their use can cause damage to the transmission.
All Dexron III oil licenses expired at the end of 2006 and will never be renewed.
General Motors will support only the use of Dexron-VI for use in Hydra-Matic Transmissions.
Despite not being recommended and having caused serious accidents, Dexron III continues to be sold in the market under the abbreviated name of Dex/Merc and D/M, and General Motors does not accept it.
Dexron-Vi was introduced in 2005 but not for management powers or manual transmissions.

Is this correct?
Dex is the abbreviated of Dexron
Merc is Mercon's abbreviated

and if this news is true, I cannot use the dexron III in my trailblazer, then which one use now?

Manual-Mecanica response on the Re: Automatic Transmission Box Oil
Friend
I tell you that the transmission your car has is the 4L60E
and this transmission works very well with Dexron III. Pèro remembers that you should always replace the box of cash when you change the oil, on the other hand the mercon sp is recommended only for transmission 6r60 and 6r75 of Ford el Mercon V pa: Angry: ra transmissions 5r55e, w, n, s and the 4r75e of Ford if your chips use in your box the mercon you must use the mercon r that is the one that is the one that meets the thickness. viscosity and inflammation point.

Manual-Mecanica response on the Re: Automatic Transmission Box Oil
Well thanks Humberto but now 4 questions are born and I would like you to answer them sincerely as a connoisseur of the subject:
1.- What is the boiling point and viscosity that the oil must have to be acceptable for the automatic transmission of my 2004-2005 trialblazer?
2.- Do we suppose that I do not use the meron r but that they put the meron sp, which could happen on the road at 100 kmts. per hour?.
3.- I have reviewed the Mercon SP factory container and anywhere they give the boiling point or viscosity, so how do we know the owners of cars what type of transmission oil we must allow to place our vehicles if when you go to a workshop, you hire the service and there they put the one they think is convenient?
4.- What would you think of the owners of these establishments that sell oils for automatic transmission and also give the repair service of the same automatic transmission boxes and put an oil that is not for your vehicle, how would you define these establishments? Is there a way to avoid it?
Thanks for your answers and those of any other expert.
